About WDE Motorsport

WDE Motorsport is a UK team based in Ashford, Kent. It is a subsidiary company to the highly successful and well regarded WDE Recruitment.

Established in 1998, WDE Recruitment quickly became a big name in recruitment and continued in 2011 to build upon its foundations to expand into Europe and beyond.

In 2008 WDE Motorsport was formed. The sole purpose of this new venture was to do to Motorsport what its parent company has done to recruitment in the last decade – invest in the future and expand using the right people with experience and expertise in the right fields.

The ultimate goal is to aim high, create a splash and offer an experience with opportunities that other teams currently overlook.

2010 was an exceptional start to WDE Motorsport as a fully-fledged race team, winning the Competition Car Insurance Ford Fiesta Championship on the first attempt with race driver Jeremy Gumbley.

Whilst 2011 didn’t bring quite the success of their storming 1st year they introduced new young drivers into the team as well a dark horse entry into the new veteran’s cup. Their race preparation skills and Class B experience also helped enabled Scott Baines to win his 1st championship.

The drives of both Lee Napolitano and Mike Bushell gained them and the team experience which took Mike to the drive of the year at the season finale Formula Ford Festival. Ian Wilson also shone throughout the year and so very nearly took a win overall at Lydden Hill as well as doing enough again at the last race of the season to win the veterans cup.

2012 proved to be yet another exciting and successful year for the team with it fielding a strong contingent in the, (new for 2012), Motorsport News Ford Fiesta Junior championship in addition to continuing to compete in the Dunlop Ford Fiesta championship. Good results in both senior and junior championships see Aaron Trigwell finishing 4th in the seniors and Charles Ladell and Jack Mitchell finishing 1st and 2nd respectively in the junior championship.

2013 was another good season with some great racing with the team, and see the first outing of team principal Wayne Eason and his race truck, competing in the British Truck Racing Association final 2 meetings of the year, a new and completely new learning curve for the mechanics. The fiesta championships went well, with new drivers and larger grids. At the end of the season saw a Junior driver Rob Cox finishing runner up and Natasha Hussain ending up mid table.

2014 so the first outing for the Clio cup, with Paul Rivett joining the team, in addition Charlie Ladell, moved up from the fiestas, in the teams maiden, year Paul Rivett finished 7th, and winning the masters cup, and Charlie Ladell finishing 11 with just doing 12 out of the 18 rounds.

2015 was a interesting year for the team, 4 Clio’s and 2 race trucks, making it a busy year for the team. Joanne Eason joining team owner Wayne in racing trucks in the British Truck racing association season, Wayne came out on top by just 5 points but a huge accident between them, ended the racing mid season. In the Clio’s Paul Rivett finished 4th, Charlie Ladell 5th, Rory green moved up from the fiestas to come 12th. late season Dan Holland moved teams to WDE making it a 4 car squad, the team finished runners up in the teams Championship.

2016 was just as busy, Paul Rivett 4th, Charlie Ladell 9th Rory Green 21st and Paul Plant racing 23rd all competed with the team finishing 3rd in the championship standings.

2017 see the team once again in the Clio cup with
